Below are some examples of different behaviors that are addressed in both student and adult groups. Ultimately, specific behaviors are determined via pre-group assessment, ongoing parent report, and observation during sessions.

Executive Functioning
- Listening to others and remaining on topic
- Recalling what has been said
- Controlling being angry or impulsive
- Beginning activities more easily, persisting on tasks, ending activities efficiently and successfully
- Paying attention, even when the topic is not highly preferred or interesting
- Working both individually, as part of a team, and on a classroom-wide basis without engaging in interfering behaviors
- Transitioning between activities
- Organizing and planning activities
- Thinking more independently and developing effective coping strategies for common situations
Pragmatic Language
- Being able to understand or state how someone else might be perceiving a situation
- Modulating voice volume to be easily heard by others (not too loud or too soft)
- Bringing up topics without going into excessive details
- Speaking in a style that fits the audience (less formal with peers)
Pragmatic Social Skills
- Following requests the first time they are made
- Learning to negotiate if something seems unfair
- Summarizing information and details more effectively
- Checking out whether others are interested in topics of discussion
- Trying new foods
- Understanding the difference between anger and assertiveness
- Functioning as a group without difficulties
- Tolerating another expressing a different opinion without becoming rude
- Understanding what creates friendships and what can cause problems
- Begins and ends conversations politely and effectively
Academic/Vocational Readiness
- Understanding the importance of sufficient sleep and healthy eating habits
- Effective hand-raising
- Cooperating in group activities
- Limiting question-asking; asking only important questions for clarification
Environmental Awareness
- Working on meal manners in an indirect and non-confrontational manner
- Practicing pedestrian and safety skills
- Ordering politely in restaurants
- Showing awareness of common hazards
